How It Works

The York County Beekeepers mentorship program will pair experienced beekeepers with newer beekeepers to provide practical, hands-on learning and support. Both mentors and mentees will submit an application, after which program administrators will match participants based on shared interests, goals, and geographic proximity to make meetings and hive visits convenient. Because participation levels may vary, there may be times when the number of mentees exceeds the number of available mentors. In those situations, the program will attempt to offer alternative opportunities—such as group apiary sessions, workshops, or other educational experiences—to ensure all mentees still receive meaningful guidance and exposure to beekeeping practices.
